Preparing for your appointment & what to wear

Feel free to contact me to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Email or text is preferred.

I’ll send you an email with forms attached. Please fill these out before you arrive. Feel free to share any medical records or diagnostic images. Keep in mind, though, that I’m not a medical doctor and cannot interpret imagery or give a diagnosis. I believe your healthcare providers should all work together towards your health and wellness goals and want you to feel confident that you can advocate for your needs.

If you have them, wear loose fitting clothing on the day of your appointment: pants that can be rolled above the knee without impacting your circulation and a shirt that can easily fold to above the elbow.

During your appointment

We’ll discuss what brings you to acupuncture - what you’ve been experiencing in your body and what you’d like to address in our session.

I’ll ask to look at your tongue and will take your pulse on both your right and left wrists. The tongue is the top of your gastrointestinal tract and is used to get a general sense of your digestive environment. Pulses give a clue to how your blood is circulating. I will do my best to explain the diagnostic process if it interests you.
